Lititz reached acclaim in 2013 after the town was selected by Budget Travel as one of the coolest small towns in America.

Lancaster County is known for its rich history, its diverse culture, and its beautiful farmland. People from outside the area hear the words “Lancaster County” and immediately imagine endless rows of cornfields, horse-drawn carriages, and the Amish. While these are all an integral part of the area, there is more culture packed into these small towns than many can imagine.

From signature restaurants that have gotten the attention of Food Network’s Alton Brown to unique exhibits that build a sense of community across the area, there is never a shortage of places to patronize and sights to see – even for Lancaster County natives.

If you have driven around Lititz in the last few months, just outside of their downtown area, there exists a mysterious black cube that has been the talk of the town since its creation in 2014. Not many have been inside its walls, but we have all heard the rumors of famous musicians who have been spotted walking into and out of the building – and the rumors are true.

The building has a name – Rock Lititz. It’s a $7 million arena-like facility where some of the biggest names in music have come to rehearse their sets before leaving for tour. Since opening its doors, Rock Lititz is said to have hosted artists such as Taylor Swift, Elton John, Justin Timberlake, U2, and Lady Gaga.

The creators of Rock Lititz constructed a space that mirrors the type of major concert venue that these artists would play at during one of their tours. Before these artists leave for tour, they can reserve a period of time where they spend days running through their set until sound, lighting, and visual effects are all perfected.

Every year, Rock Lititz continues to expand and introduce more amenities that are made available to these artists and their tech crews. These include enormous dressing rooms, a catering hall, and a studio that is intended for dance rehearsals. In the fall of 2018, they will also be opening up a hotel that features 139 beautiful hotel rooms, as well as a full restaurant and bar.
